This is to be a poll about the use of the Octinium anti-cheat (
http://www.octinium.org) in the ClanBase BF1942 ladders (including DC). What Octinium basically does is take 5 screenshots a minute at random intervals of a player's crosshair and 40 pixels around it or so. It then packs all these up and saves them as a time-stamped, write-protected AVI file which can be uploaded somewhere and is treated the same as a demo.
I believe that this could help in preventing the use of foghacks, colour packs, etc., but probably not so much the mini-map hack. So the question is: do we believe that cheats are large enough a hazard in BF1942 to warrant using demos as proof of cheating? For the moment, this is the best anti-cheat on the market, but there are rumours that CD-Keys will be bannable on servers in 1.45. BFIDs anyone?
All I need is a simple yes or no to Octinium.
Thanks,
DvO."
