apologize for the difficulty with Battlefield 2.
Its not likely that the disc is damaged because assuming that he was able to
install the game without encountering any issues/errors.
You may want to have him try the following steps to see if it resolves the
issue:
1. Click on the Start button.
2. Click on the My Documents icon.
3. Right-click on the Battlefield 2 folder.
4. Select delete.
5. Try the game again.
This folder just contains your user specific control settings that may, over
time, become corrupted and therefore can be the cause of the issue.
