Project Reality has and always will promote and encourage PR Community Modding, and ARMA2 will be no different.
However as per the PR: ARMA2 EULA, this needs to be done officially to be able to host your Mod on ANY Project Reality WAN server, be it passworded or not.
This has not been designed to create "red tape" to the community, merely to ensure it is done correctly and does not dilute PR: ARMA2, and thus create a situation in ARMA2 which we are attempting to eleveate.
The steps are quite simple and cover all work for example:
Missions
Models
Retextures
Maps
Scripts/Configs
UI
What you need to do if you have a Concept:
Create a design plan - Offline
Create a Thread in here, prefix with what it is, eg [Model], [Mission] etc
Discuss this concept in the thread, and progress with your work
A Dev may at this point advise a different angle during this process if it is clear it will not be suited
Once completed, contact a PR: ARMA2 Dev via the pm system, with a link to your thread and requesting approval from a Red Tag
The files will be requested from you for the team to look over
If the work suits PR and is of suitable quality it will be included into the PR Build ASP, and your full credits will be added
If it is not suited, a Developer will advise what steps need to be taken
The thread once completed will be closed
A similar concept has been running for PR: BF2 for a number of years and has proved a huge success, with many current PR: BF2 Developers starting here. So the option of becoming a PR: ARMA2 Developer is always there if it interests you and the team.
NOTE:
If you intend to create a FULL Faction within PR: ARMA2, please post a full design plan prefixed with:
[FACTION]
eg:
[FACTION]Chinese Design Plan.
Please ensure your design plan is comprehensive, and if approved by reading your design plan, you will be given your own Faction Sub Forum to work in.
In both cases, be aware the Development team are here to advise as required, but their main function is working on PR CORE, so please be patient.
